How We Work
We specialize in Summary Conviction and Provincial Offences within Ontario, Canada. We understand that an offence is a serious matter and an experienced representative can help have your issue heard. Our service strives to ease all anxiety and assist in making the legal matter heard in an efficient, effective and fear way to help you achieve your desired legal results. We can either guide you in dealing with your legal matter or we provide the extra assurance through our professional representation.
We will complete all the required legal documentation; required both before and after trial and if necessary, we will provide you with the proper legal representation during the mediation and trial processes.
Consultations
Your first contact with us will be during our consultation, at which point you will explain your matter to our experienced team. During the consultation, we will provide you with advice on the different legal options that can be taken, and we will offer you our services. Once you have decided on our services, we will ask you to fill out a retainer and to provide us with proper identification. If your offence is beyond the scope of our practice, we will assist you in finding the correct help that you need.
Summary Offences
Summary Offences are also know as Summary Conviction Offences. These offences are considered ‘less serious’ offences when compared to indictable offences. Summary Offences are less serious because they are punishable by short prison sentences and smaller fines, than indictable offences.
The maximum penalty for a summary conviction offence is a sentence of 6 months of imprisonment, and/or a fine of $5000.

- Robbery
- Threats
- Trespassing
- Disturbance
- Dangerous Driving
- Soliciting
- Fraud under $5000
- Breach of probation
- "Joy Riding"
- Etc.
Provincial Offences
Provincial offences are minor (non-criminal) offences that include, that are heard within the Provincial Courts. Provincial Offences are punished by fines and no prison time.
Some Provincial Offences include:
- The Highway Traffic Act
- Failing to surrender your insurance card or possessing a false or invalid insurance card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act)
- Being intoxicated in a public place
- Selling alcohol to a minor (Liquor Licence Act)
- Entering prohibited premises (Trespass to Property Act)
- Violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Violation of City bylaws
