Social Insurance Cards
Certificates Express can acquire both first and replacement social insurance cards. In order to be granted a S.I.N. card, you must provide the following:
- Primary document — Canadian birth certificate or citizenship card (IMM 1000 may also be accepted)
- Support document — Required in cases of name change (i.e. marriage)
In all cases, you must provide the original documents. These documents will be returned to you with your processed S.I.N. card.
Service Options:
- Regular Service
- Choose this option to receive your SIN card within the government's regular delivery time frame. Once we have received your completed application, we will process it for you using the standard government procedure. In all cases, your document will be mailed to you as soon as the the government has completed processing.
- Urgent Service
- Expedited service is available for an additional fee. SIN card processing will be completed within 24 hours.

Additional Information:
- Processing time for Regular Service is usually within 4 to 6 weeks (does not include delivery)
- Processing time for Urgent Service is usually within 3 days (does not include delivery). Please note that a request for urgent service is only granted by Social Development Canada if the applicant requires the card for employment purposes.
- It is absolutely imperative that an signed and dated Authorization Letter accompanies your application in order for Certificates Express to submit your SIN request on your behalf. A letter template is included with the document package available from this website.
